Who We Are

Armchair Anglers, Inc. is a private 501(c)(3), all volunteer organization dedicated to provide a safe and comfortable day fishing on a custom-designed, fiberglass, fully accessible pontoon boat.

Armchair Anglers was founded in order to provide World-class fishing opportunities to these Anglers. Seeing a need, Jim who has Muscular Dystrophy designed a custom, fully accessible fiberglass catamaran in order to make this dream a reality. The boat, once built, will be utilized to allow physically challenged anglers to enjoy a variety of fishing adventures.

JIM HARGADEN

FOUNDER
Jim Hargaden, founder and Executive Director, is a life-long angler who knows first-hand how the disabled feel. Jim was intent on not giving up his favorite past-time — light tackle angling.

Jim and his family have been involved in the Marine and Fishing Industry for over 30 years. During his lifetime, Jim has been fortunate to have befriended some of the biggest names in the fishing business. With this “Who’s Who” list and Jim's' knowledge of fishing in South Florida, Jim will provide THE BEST angling opportunities for those involved with the organization.

With this in mind, Jim founded Armchair Anglers so that he could provide unique fishing trips to this unique segment of the population. A Custom-designed and Fully Accessible fiberglass Catamaran was utilized to allow physically challenged anglers to enjoy a variety of fishing adventures.

If you are like Jim, and love fishing or know someone who loves to fish but, due to physical limitations can not participate or enjoy the sport as they used to – HELP them to get back in the game! Click here to see how you can participate.
